Our client is the Manchester based tech hub for the global operations of their parent company with offices in London & Singapore. They are an asset management and greenfield FinTech business who use machine learning and quantum computing on their asset management platform. This gives them a competitive edge over hedge fund and portfolio managers which has successfully allowed them to now manage £6.8billion worth of assets.

The Projects

The main project you’ll be working on is building brand new features for their asset management platform which currently manages £6.8billion worth of assets. This platform gives them a competitive edge over Hedge Fund and Portfolio Managers and it is on an upward trajectory to dominate the market. The full stack of the platform uses Angular9, TypeScript, GraphQL, HTML, CSS, .NET Core, PostgresSQL and AWS, but you’ll be focussing on building the front-end of new features. The platform is a mature platform so this role is a mix of maintaining the existing platform as well as greenfield feature builds.

The Team

Although they are a global company, you will be working within their Manchester based technology arm. You will be a part of a team of 8 people in the Manchester team which consists of the Managing Director (who is still very hands on and you’ll get the opportunity to work with and learn from) a Product Manager, 4 Front-end Developers, 2 UX/UI designers, a research analyst and. You'll also be working in collaboration with a team of 3 based in London, a hands-on CTO, DevOps engineer and .NET developer.

We have just placed a UX/UI designer with them, along with a Senior .NET developer and now we’re looking for 2 Junior Front End Developers and 1 Senior Front End Developer to join that growing team too!

They have been on a path of organic growth and this is their next phase of expansion, so you're coming in at a very exciting time.

The Role

The team are focussing on adding new features to their existing platform so your day to day duties will include :

-Collaborating with the other developers to design build new features.

-Writing clean, maintainable code.

-Analysing the current system and implementing any new changes.

-Participating in daily stand-ups.

-Conducting code reviews.

-Translating business requirements (good verbal and written communication skills are key!)

-Training up in D3.JS, GraphQL, Machine Learning.

-Mentor the junior developers.

-Shape the technical direction and architecture.

-Leadership training to become team lead.

-Planning sprints.

The Tech Stack

The essential tech stack for the Senior role are :

-JavaScript

-Angular (they're using Angular9)

-SASS / LESS

-A solid understanding of engineering principals.

Salary and Benefits

This role is paying between £50,000 – £60,000 for the right candidate and are willing to wait for the right person.
