Project Manager (SAP)

At Infotel UK Consulting, we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with extensive SAP systems experience to join our development team on a permanent basis in Newcastle upon Tyne.

As The Project Manager you will need to:

* follow a standard process, as defined by the client who have their own methodology

* hold or have held a professional project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM (Association for Project Management) or the PMI (Project Management Institute)

* initiate the project – check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources

* be experienced at eliciting and documenting and getting acceptance of client requirements in an environment where stakeholders often see knowledge as power and like to hold onto it

* be experienced at facilitating client workshops

* carry out planning – this will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks – in accordance with the needs of the client. Some tools, such as Gantt charts, spreadsheets, and MS Project must be used to create a visual project plan

* select, lead and motivate a matrix organisation project team from both internal and external stakeholder organisations

* manage the project – which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget

* carry out monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the project

* ensure the quality of the deliverable/service being provided

* identify and manage risks using RAID to ensure delivery is on time

* implement any necessary changes throughout the process

* report regularly to management and the client via weekly/monthly PSR’s (Project Status Reports)

* close the project formally – including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learnings for the next project

* have experience working with ERP applications and understand Financial functionality and requirements of same

* be resilient and determined and have a flexible mentality as things change

* problem solve/troubleshoot as and when required

Skills you will need to have:

* excellent organisation skills, to plan the use of people and resources to meet deadlines


Highly competent in the utilisation of IT tools to achieve specific goals including SAP systems, planning software and company bespoke software

* strong interpersonal skills, to motivate and lead the project team

* the ability to monitor and control budgets

* good communication, articulation, and negotiation skills, to manage client and management expectations, and to resolve any conflicts

* the ability to use your initiative and make decisions under pressure

* technical knowledge related to the project may also be required
