Product Owner – Cyber Security – Fully Remote (UK Based)

Our client offers innovative cyber security products to protect critical national infrastructure.
What will your role involve?
As Product Owner, you will be a vital part of our Product Management team, reporting to the Head of Product Management. You will be actively involved in understanding and communicating our customer needs, deciding the priorities that we will focus on, and contributing to our overall portfolio vision, strategy, and content.
Our successful candidate will have good knowledge of cyber security practices. Prior experience of product ownership is desirable, but we will provide training and coaching in product management principles for the right candidate.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Stakeholder management: Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand the problems our product will solve. Evangelise our product vision, strategy, capabilities and benefits.
* Backlog refinement and prioritisation: Build, groom, and prioritise the product backlog to ensure the team works on the most valuable items. You will have to make and communicate tough decisions on priorities.
* Iteration planning: Contribute to the development team sprint planning by bringing the “voice of customer” perspective and elaborating on the outcomes we aim to achieve.
* User story elaboration: Work with the team to elaborate user stories and acceptance criteria for features that positively impact our customers.
* Accepting backlog items: Validate that backlog items meet the story’s acceptance criteria and deliver on our desired outcome.
* Contribute to our Agile ceremonies.
Your knowledge, experience and skills
* Relevant degree, holder of an equivalent qualification, or equivalent experience.
* You will have experience in one (or more) of these areas:
* You will have a successful track record in a Product Owner position for a cyber security product; or
* You will have practical experience of cyber security processes and technology in a cyber security role (e.g., Analyst, Engineer, Architect); or
* You will have experience in Information Technology and/or Operating Technology Management in the transport or rail industry.
It would be nice if you were knowledgeable in these areas, but none of them is required.
* Strong background in agile development processes
* Experience in implementing, configuring and maintaining IP networking on modern Linux operating systems.
Our client is offering a fully remote contract (UK based) with occasional travel as needed for clients and team interactions.
