Job Description

Product Owner – 6 months FIXED TERM CONTRACT – Bristol (hybrid)

* £45,000 – £65,000 + Benefits (pro-rata)

A leading organisation with Bristol based offices is embarking upon a period of growth and seeks additional Product Ownership support on an interim basis of at least 6 months. This may become a permanent role or be extended beyond the initial 6 months.

Responsibilities as a Product Owner:

Release Management: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of product releases, including defining release scope, coordinating release schedules, and communicating release plans to stakeholders.

User Journey Mapping: Collaborate with UX/UI designers and stakeholders to map out user journeys, identify pain points, and prioritise enhancements to improve the overall user experience.

Feature Prioritisation: Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, define user stories, and prioritize features based on customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility.

Ticket Management: Act as the primary point of contact for raising, tracking, and managing product-related tickets and issues. Ensure timely resolution of tickets and escalate critical issues as needed.

Testing Coordination: Coordinate with QA engineers to plan and execute testing activities, including functional testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Review test cases and provide feedback to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Feedback Collection and Analysis: Gather feedback from stakeholders, end-users, and internal teams to identify areas for improvement and inform product enhancements. Analyse feedback data to prioritise feature enhancements and bug fixes.

Quality Assurance: Collaborate with development teams to maintain product quality standards and ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and quality assurance processes.

Documentation and Training: Create and maintain product documentation, including user guides, release notes, and training materials. Conduct training sessions for internal teams and end-users as needed.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and obstacles to successful product delivery and develop mitigation strategies to address them proactively. Monitor project risks and dependencies and take appropriate actions to minimise impact.

Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by fostering innovation, implementing process enhancements, and sharing lessons learned from each release cycle.

Required Skills and Experience for Product Owner:

* Experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in software development.

* Proven experience in release management, user journey mapping, ticket management, and testing coordination.

* Strong understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and experience working in agile environments.

* Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

* Solid organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

* Proficiency in product management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana
