Platform Engineer (Kubernetes + Automation)

Rate: £400 – £430 a day

IR35: Inside IR35

Location: Sheffield Hybrid – 60% office 40% home

Duration: 6 Months initially.

You will join a global IT Consultancy delivering digital transformation to a financial services company.

Role Overview:

The Core Platform Engineering Team is responsible for the end to end operation, automation and enhancement of a large scale hybrid server estate supporting business critical workloads. This is a mixed engineering role, where team members contribute across fulfilment, implementation, platform maintenance, automation, and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engineering, fulfilment and operational tasks across the Core Platform.
Operate and maintain large scale Kubernetes (K8s) environments.
Perform hands on implementation and configuration changes.
Automate operational tasks using Python, Ansible, GitHub, Jira, Jenkins.
Troubleshoot incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong Kubernetes skills.
Automation experience.
Linux, networking, container ecosystem knowledge.

Preferred:

Experience operating large server estates
