Due to continued success the company is seeking to recruit a PHP Software Developer. In this permanent full-time position, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on a world-leading open source OJS publishing software, and collaborate with a large open source community in order to expand the functionality of the OJS REST API. The role will also involve designing and running integration tests and optimising the database layer of the existing OJS REST API to improve the performance of the platform.

The company is looking for a candidate with proven web development skills, prefers simple over complicated, and above all a positive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
The successful candidate will possess these core skills:
Strong PHP skills
Strong experience with REST APIs
Experience of Object Oriented PHP
SQL and database design skills
Solid grounding in UNIX/Linux
Additional experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
Agile development (SCRUM)
Familiar with dependency management technologies like PHP composer
Familiar with writing tests in frameworks such as PHPUnit
Research background and interests
Mentoring junior staff
