Job Title: Oracle DBA (Active SC Cleared)
Location: Wokingham – Hybrid (3 days onsite mandatory)
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £425 per day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: Active SC Clearance required

Oracle DBA – SC Cleared – Hybrid (Wokingham)

We are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA with strong SQL Server expertise to join a major UK enterprise programme within a secure, regulated environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a contractor with active SC Clearance to work on large-scale production database environments, supporting critical business systems.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain Oracle (11g/12c/19c) and SQL Server (2016/2019) databases

*

Perform upgrades, patching, migrations, and performance tuning

*

Manage backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Guard, AlwaysOn)

*

Monitor database performance (AWR, indexing, partitioning, query tuning)

*

Lead root cause analysis for performance incidents

*

Support disaster recovery planning and failover testing

*

Ensure database security, compliance, and audit readiness

*

Provide L2/L3 production support

*

Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams

Essential Skills

*

Active SC Clearance (must be current and transferable)

*

Strong Oracle DBA experience (11g/12c/19c)

*

SQL Server administration (2016/2019)

*

RMAN, Data Guard, ASM

*

SQL performance tuning and optimisation

*

Experience across Linux/UNIX and Windows environments

*

Strong troubleshooting and production support experience

Desirable

*

Exposure to cloud database platforms (Azure / AWS / Oracle Cloud)

*

Experience in regulated or secure environments

*

Experience supporting high-availability enterprise systems

Working Model

*

3 days onsite in Wokingham (mandatory)

*

Occasional additional onsite presence may be required

*

On-call participation for critical environments
