We are working with an established client based in Northampton who are undergoing a restructure within their IT division. As a result, they have a have an opening which is a brand-new role for a Network Support Engineer. As the Network Support Engineer the primary focus will be to manage the in-house network (500 users) and ensure high availability and security of the corporate network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be expected to do this and ensure the network provisioning and maintenance is inline with the industry best practises and regulations.
You will be responsible for the configuration, installation, support and maintenance for the corporate network including WAN, LAN, MPLS, VPNs, VoIP and Wi-FI.
This role will sit within a small, close knit IT team where you will be expected to be able to work independently and escalate where appropriate. You will be working remotely in the immediate sense and will still have a flexible ‘work from home’ policy post pandemic.
3 years’ experience within a network support position
Proven track record of configuration, installation, support, and maintenance of a corporate network
Solid experience across IT networks – LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, MPLS and firewalls
Understanding of network security and policies
It would be advantageous if you have a ITIL V3/V4 certification and any network accreditation (CCNA/CCENT/CCDA/CCNP).
