I’m recruiting a Network Engineer with Fortinet and Juniper experience to assist with an implementation project to deliver new internet access and WAN services for our local Council client. The project consists of implementing new BT Internet connections at 2 sites, 2 BT short haul circuits between these sites with full redundancy, and layer 2 switching to manage failover of Internet link to the other site should one fail.

You will also assist with the migration of current Internet and WAN connections to the new solution. Renew the Public Sector Network (PSN) certification. Implement a third-party solution for PSN for access to GCSX data.

The successful candidate will have:

* Firewall and router configuration skills (specifically Fortinet and Juniper)

* Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP network design and implementation, including routing protocol OSPF and BGP

* Experience in the Public Sector Network (PSN) certification process

* Ability to manage third-party suppliers such as BT

* Excellent documentation skills

* Experience in cutting over networks from old to new services

* Local Government or NHS experience is desirable.

This contract has a hybrid working arrangement; occasional out-of-hours work may be required to minimise disruption to the business. This contract is inside IR35, initially for 4 months
