Our Digital Services Group (DSG) is a diverse business unit covering a full range of digital capabilities that is tasked with meeting the technical needs of the most secure environments. They make a positive impact in programmes of National Security for the UK and its Strategic Partners, globally.

Joining forces with our Electronic Warfare Operations Support Group (EWOS) which is made up of 60+ electronic warfare specialists from all manner of backgrounds. We are building a new team led by our Principal Solution Architect at a state-of-the-art test and evaluation facility at a client site in Farnborough. You’ll deliver exceptional levels of support to demanding business needs, maintaining a multi-vendor network and IT system predominantly on Microsoft Windows environments working closely with our more senior engineers.

Reporting to our Lead IT Engineer this is your opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced engineers and work your way up the career ladder in a role jam-packed full of variety. You’ll working alongside senior members to deliver projects to agreed deadlines and adhering to the change management process.

How you’ll support us

We’re expecting that you have at least 2 years’ industry experience with Server Architecture, Firewalls, and Routers.

Using your Windows Server experience, you’ll help us with the installation, configuration and management of Active Directory, Group Policy, and other core on-premises Microsoft products. Additionally, you’ll utilize your network engineering skills to help build and maintain highly secure and resilient networks.

Essential Experience

* Good understanding of routing and switch protocols such as Switch Stacking, Link Aggregation and Dynamic Routing Protocols.

* Good understanding of next-gen firewalls products covering IPS and Advanced Threat Prevention.

* Understanding of core Windows server technologies such as Active Directory and Group Policy.

* Understanding of Virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMWare.

Nice to Haves

In addition, it would be nice to have one or more of the following skills:

* Knowledge of RF technologies

* Experience with Linux.

* CCNA Certified

Due to the highly secure nature of the projects, you will be involved with, you must be a UK National and be eligible to undergo and maintain UK government SC security clearance.
