Net Software Engineer – C#, SQL, Azure / AWS, JS, CSS, SOAP, APIs, Agile – Global Insurer

Outstanding opportunity to join this globally renowned financial services brand on a permanent basis. This organisation is in the midst of a major IT transformation, shifting towards a Product-centric operating model. You’ll report into a Software Engineering Practice Lead and will work within one or more ‘Product Teams’ in an Agile and DevOps setting. You’ll research, design, develop test and support software solutions that deliver value to the business focused on B2B and B2C insurance specific applications and portals.

* 3+ years Development experience in global environments

* Deep experience in developing complex solutions using .NET framework (ASP.NET, C# & VB.NET)

* Familiarity using Python, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

* Experience in any of SOAP, REST, JSON, Castle Windsor, XML, LINQ

* Detailed knowledge of best practice regarding the use of Azure DevOps

* Experience of API development

* Experience of Automation technologies (e.g. for testing, code deployment or monitoring)

* A good understanding of Microservices

* Strong understanding of object-oriented programming

* Ability to interpret requirements and specifications documentation (e.g. user stories)

* Excellent technical analysis skills

* Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, methods and tools

* Knowledge and experience of Agile product delivery methodologies within a DevOps environment (e.g., Scrum, Lean, Kanban, XP)

* Excellent knowledge of relational databases and SQL

* Experience in cloud platforms including AWS and Microsoft Azure

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen, present and communicate solutions clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences

* Strong appreciation of the importance of comprehensive testing

* Able to interpret and contribute to architecture artefacts

£65k-£85k + bonus + corporate benefits. City of London (60%) and remote (40%)
