MI Data Analyst

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly driven, proactive, and inquisitive MI Data Analyst to join our Specialty Team within PIB Group Services. You will be responsible for designing and developing/building reports for both internal and external clients. You will be adept in MI reporting, creating report visualisations for large external clients, as well as internal MI for KPIs & SLAs, assisting in the definition of data structure and governance. You will review the reporting functions and run holistic testing to ensure it is fit for purpose. You will be joining a new team, at its foetal stage and will have the opportunity to really put your stamp on processes (ability to create, design, and influence the business around its data reporting).

This role would suit someone who comes from a MI reporting background, who is highly organised and motivated. You will have experience in either SAS (preferable), Tableau, PowerBI or QlickView and will be advanced in MS Excel. Basic SQL will also aid you being a success in this role followed by a knowledge of all other MS suite packages (PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams etc.) You will be confident, personable, and efficient in dealing with multiple stakeholders, establishing, and maintaining positive working relationships. You will be able to manage your own workload and handle numerous workstreams concurrently, and will have experience of obtaining, collating and analysing data from several sources.

Location: UK Nationwide – PIB have offices nationwide, as a result, this role can be based anywhere in the UK and linked to one of our PIB offices near you, this role can also offer some work from home flexibility.

Responsibilities:

You will be required to have both creative and collaborative working with IT and the wider business. It will involve evangelising effective data management practices and promoting better understanding of data and analytics. Working with the MI Business Partner, key business stakeholders, IT experts and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal analytics and data science solutions,
You will be the subject matter expert in Data Visualisation for the division, moving the reporting style and delivery through best practice,
You will drive automation through effective metadata management: responsible for using innovative and modern tools, techniques, and architectures to (partially or completely) automate the most-common, repeatable, and tedious data preparation and integration tasks,
Data Modelling / Design: you will be a key resource to develop and maintain the enterprise data models. Being curious and knowledgeable about new data initiatives and how to address them. This includes applying their data and/or domain understanding in addressing new data requirements from business areas,
You will collaborate across departments: Strong collaboration skills in order to work with varied stakeholders within the PIB Group. Work closely with the divisional data analysts to fulfil the business MI objectives,
You will develop positive working relationships with relevant contacts across the Group,
You will assist with other areas of MI reporting, as required,

Experience:

You will have expertise in one or more of the following: computer sciences, statistics, analytics, applied mathematics, data management, information systems, information science or a related quantitative field,
You will have experience in data discovery, analytics and BI software tools like SAS, PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView,
You will be highly creative and collaborative as you would be expected to collaborate with both the business and IT teams to define the business problem, refine the requirements, and design and develop data deliverables accordingly,
You will be experienced in data modelling, data management disciplines including data integration, optimisation, and data quality,
You will have experience in database programming languages, preferably SQL and/or T-SQL for relational databases,
You will have experience of obtaining, collating and analysing data from multiple sources,
You will have excellent planning & organisational skills, experience of managing your own workload and handling multiple workstreams concurrently,
You will have previous experience dealing with multiple stakeholders, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships, and able to challenge and probe when needed,
You will be a personable, inquisitive, and efficient MI reporting specialist who is able to think outside of the box,
You will have great analytical skills and display a high level of attention to detail,
You will be proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams),
You have highly developed communication skills (both verbal and written),
