Lead Data Scientist – Sports Wearables, Python
Working on a system that is arguably as complex as it gets, a Lead Data Scientist is required to develop the next generation of algorithms for these sports wearable products. This product is used by professional level sports teams; therefore, you will have the chance to have an impact on the way the world of sport analyses data and generates tactical advantages.
You will likely have experience working with Python and developing algorithms for noisy data. Someone with a Digital Signal Processing background would have a great advantage here. Having previous experience working with sports data, whilst highly advantageous, is not essential for this role.
This role covers the full stack of algorithm development and will mean that on occasion you will need to go to the field to test the algorithms that you have developed with professional teams. The algorithms are not just for the everyday average person playing sport, it will be used by elite athletes at the top of their game in highly unpredictable environments.
You will be working to develop algorithms for a huge variety of different metrics. Not only is this a real technical challenge to get your teeth stuck into because of the complexity of it, but also because of the variety this role will give you.
Support in this area will be provided to you by an expert team, made up of PhD’s with many years’ experience in the industry as well as an ex-Nasa scientist.
