The Job Role

As a developer within Arcus Global you will be at the sharp end of making technology change happen and growing our business. You will be ‘hands on’ with the latest Cloud Computing technology, such as Salesforce and Amazon Web Services. Your solutions will bring applications to life for our clients. You will work as part of a scrum team to translate critical requirements from product owners into technical possibilities that form part of a coherent platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Build full-stack products on the Salesforce platform with integrations to other platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Secure Storage (S3) and lambda, Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Use principles of good UX and common sense to create intuitive solutions for our clients, maintaining a consistent look-and-feel across our products
Interpret acceptance criteria into technical solutions following user-centric processes
Ensure that your code is of a high quality and meets Arcus coding standards
Work as part of a team to design new features and estimate the effort required to build them
Work with Test Engineers to ensure our products consistently meet high standards
Use standard development tools (git) as well as platform specific and proprietary tools to optimise and automate your workflow
Contribute to retrospectives and ensure Arcus continually improves its products and processes
Watch the industry for new products and techniques we can adopt to improve performance and security, speed development or visualise data
Run show-and-tell sessions internally and externally to gather feedback on new features
Interpret technical and legislative documents to understand our clients’ needs
Maintain Salesforce development qualifications
Work with our customer fulfilment and support team
Is this You?

Required Skills:

Strong Computer Science fundamentals
A confident approach to problem solving within restricted timescales
The ability to work on your own initiative as well as work well within a team
Experience with object oriented programming languages and principles
Experience with web development technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS)
Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with customers and stakeholders in the course of completing projects
Enthusiasm and ability to pick up new skills and embrace change are the hallmark of developers at Arcus
Desired Skills:

Previous experience with commercial software development, ideally with the Salesforce platform
Any knowledge of the Salesforce platform (Apex, LWC, Aura, VF) would be advantageous
Experience with javascript frameworks based on web components
Knowledge of API and integration development with HTTP, REST, and JSON
