IT Support Engineer – Huddersfield – to £26k with scope to develop

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled IT Support Engineer with a good understanding of Information Security to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support to our internal users while also ensuring the security and integrity of our systems and data. This role requires a good understanding of basic networking, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for identifying and mitigating security risks. Active Directory, SharePoint and M365 will certainly add value.

Responsibilities:

* Provide technical support to internal users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.

* Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.

* Monitor and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, and other potential threats.

* Implement and enforce security policies and procedures to safeguard company data and systems.

* Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and areas for improvement.

* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to IT support and information security.

* Provide training and guidance to staff on security best practices and procedures.

* Document support activities, security incidents, and resolutions for future reference.

Requirements:

Proven experience in IT support roles, with a focus on information security.

Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.

Experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption methods.

Familiarity ISO 2001 will add value as they are going for this certification later this year

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with users at all levels of the organization.

Relevant certifications preferred.

Familiarity with Active Directory, O365 and SharePoint is a plus.
