About the Role of the IT Manager
The UK IT Manager will be the manager for the UK IT team and a senior networking specialist. As part of an international matrix organisation this role will report operationally to the EMEA IT Director and functionally to the Head of Network/Security and Customer Services. From an operational perspective the UK IT Manager will oversee the day to day IT activities for the UK region, including management of the IT team. Functionally the UK IT Manager will provide a broad range of network skills which will include design, implement, maintain, and support of the network infrastructure in EMEA.
Specifically, you will:
Manage network equipment including:
Manage the DNS/DHCP/IPAM
Maintain infrastructure monitoring and alerting system (incl. SIEM)
Maintain security equipment:
* Vulnerability scanner
Manage VoIP telephony system
Interface with on-site engineers and contractors during the provisioning process of any network related services, including data cabling
Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
Provide internal technical support and offer an escalation path from support engineers on complex networking and technical issues
Participate in an on-call rota for out of hours’ network
To be Successful in the IT Manager Role you will need
Relevant experience managing an IT Team
Previous experience working in an IT Department within a Data Centre would be desirable but not essential
Ability to display some knowledge of some or any of:
* Routing – OSPF/BGP/CIDR/VRRP/IPv6
* Switching – VLANS/LACP/PoE/STP
* General – DNS/DHCP/SMTP/VPN
Flexible and not afraid of getting “hands dirty” with some of the more hands on tasks involved with building and running data centres
Flexibility to travel to other locations as required at short notice
Full driving licence valid for use in the UK with own transport
Undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
