An internationally recognised innovative manufacturer of computer products and systems with significant international presence is actively seeking talented engineers to join the expanding in-house Development Team. Their products are used in some of the most demanding markets including Aerospace, Telecommunication, Defence, Scientific and Space.
Due to continued growth and demand for more complex products they now require an additional Embedded Software Engineer. Based at their site in the South East of England (generous relocation package on offer), you will be a key member of their Development Team and have a high level of responsibility for your own projects.
This is an exciting time to join the business as you will contribute towards both new and existing projects including some very significant and high profile (i.e. commercial satellites, autonomous cars). They are continuing to develop new applications for emerging technologies, and are always exploring ways to work with new clients outside of traditional market sectors.
Job requirements include:
Developing & enhancing Board Support Packages for Intel processor-based boards
Designing & Developing middleware, system and device driver software for Windows, Linux, VxWorks and other standard operating systems
Working collaboratively with hardware designers during both the design phase (for product specification) and proving phase (product validation)
Provide expertise assistance to the Technical Support and Engineering Teams dealing with customer issues

Applications are invited from candidates with a proven track record of embedded C programming for x86, PowerPC or high-performance ARM processors, practical experience of programming a range of hardware devices at register level, and have previously developing low-level embedded software for Linux or a similar operating system.
We are able to consider a range of backgrounds and experiences, so applications are invited from Software Embedded Engineers with some of the following attributes:
C and/or C++ proficiency/competency
Competency in using any scripting language
Experience with ARM, PowerPC, x86In addition, candidates with experience of any of the below would also be desirable:
Code development for Real Time Operating Systems
