Data Analyst – Spatial Data Analysis

Rate – £80ph (inside ir35)

The successful candidate will join a team in London (other locations available). The team's mandate includes the development and execution of Sustainable Progress Strategy, coordinating net zero plan, managing ESG ratings and disclosure, and other priority initiatives. The Sustainability & ESG team manages environmental, climate change, human rights and other stakeholder and business issues in partnership with the businesses, risk functions and operational teams.

*Stay up to date on industry developments and trends. More specifically ESG and climate risk assessment within the banking industry.
*Determine appropriate metrics for assessing physical risk.
*Prepare and manage spatial data collected from various internal and external sources.
*Manipulate and analyse spatial data to contribute to presentations and reports for various stakeholders across the bank at different level of seniority.
*Collaborate with other groups across the bank on ESG and climate risk-related projects.

*Academic background in a quantitative, scientific, or environmental discipline.
*1+ years of hands-on experience (work or research) in spatial data analysis, ideally flood maps.
*Additional knowledge of insurance catastrophe data nice to have.
*Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
*Effective in narrating and conveying information clearly, accurately.
*Fluency in one programming language useful, Python or R preferred. Basic fluency in SQL.
*Interest in developing a career in finance, financial experience is not a requirement.
