Role: Business Systems Support Engineer

Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire (on-site)

Salary: £34 – 38K + Employee Benefits

Key Skills: Strong Excel (pivot tables etc.)/ Access / SQL for reporting, working with 3rd party suppliers for issue resolution, MS Office, Logistics etc.

Why Apply: This is a really interesting role, joining a small business and taking responsibility for all IT systems and Applications in terms of their availability and use so that all business data is captured accurately, and available to produce regular performance reports to support decision making by the Management Team.

Our Client: Our Client is a well-established distribution company just outside Lichfield. They are a small, successful business with a small, close-knit workforce that manage the day-to-day operations.

The Role:

Be responsible for the availability of IT systems and applications, (including liaising with 3rd party supplier support teams to resolve any technical or availability issues)
Ensure all data is captured accurately by the systems, (including itemised pricing, product availability, product updates, product promotions, distribution scheduling information etc).
Produce regular reports for the Management team to aid decision making using MS Excel, MS Access and SQL tools.
Identify projects of work for improved processes to achieve optimum efficiency and subsequently initiate and drive projects through to completion.
Manage Health and Safety and related certifications, (with support from external service providers)
Provide support on HR and advice for Line Managers.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

Advanced Excel / Access skills, having worked in a similar role previously where you had to produce regular MI information. SQL scripting would be highly advantageous.
Broad technical skills with a natural technical problem-solving capability!
Previous experience ensuring systems availability and supporting a range of business applications in previous roles, including liaising with 3rd party Application support staff to resolve functional or technical issues.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
An adaptable and flexible approach to work, ensuring all aspects of the business operations run smoothly.
Exceptional organisational skills in an office environment.
Ideally 5+ years' experience in an office based role with exposure to small business operations
