Business Systems Analyst

The position will be working with a leading PLC listed UK Manufacturing organisation based close to the Sheffield area. In the spirit of continuous improvement, they are seeking to appoint a Business Systems Analyst to help with the development of working processes, systems, reporting and supporting KPIs.

This new role will support the Transformation project team in analysing the processes, systems and reporting across Customer Service and supporting business functions, (Stock/Inventory/Manufacturing Operations, to assist in developing transformative solutions that will drive the business forward in performance and efficiency. Accountable to the Transformation Project Manager, this role will assist with the implementation of key projects outlined in the transformation roadmap and collaborate with group IT to affect changes in a timely manner. As a dedicated divisionally managed resource, the Business System Analyst will gain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the specific operational and commercial needs of the business, occasionally travelling to different sites within the estate to support the various business functions and improve their output.

Key Responsibilities of the Business Analyst:

Review and document business processes (Customer Service / Order Processing / Stock / Inventory Control etc, identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements in formal specifications, presentations and meetings
Assist in the development of business intelligence frameworks to support the flexible reporting requirements of business
Develop and support bespoke self-service divisional reports and dashboards to empower business strategy and help it review performance
Generate ad-hoc reports to support emerging business decision-making by collecting, analysing and summarising information and trends in a divisionally informed manner
Assist in the implementation of new systems and projects to maximise performance of the business
Develop commercial and operational knowledge and understanding to support division as a technical resource in the field of Information Systems and TechnologyKey Requirements:

Previous Business Analyst experience, ideally acquired within one of the following sectors; Manufacturing, Engineering, Customer Services etc
Understanding of operational and commercial business processes, with experience of process mapping and flow charts
Financial and operational reporting experience; such as P&L, profitability, scenario reporting
Experience in design and specification of data structures to support report development
Report writing and results analysis
Microsoft SQL experience (writing queries and views) – Desirable
Strong Excel skills
MRP experience, covering either SAP, ORACLE, JDE or COGNOS etc
Project Manager / Project Management experience supported with great communication skills with ability to present complex ideas clearly and concisely to a variety of levels within the businessWhat's in it for you:
