Business Consultant

Outside IR35

Stevenage – 3 days on site

3 months initial contract

Brief

We're looking for a Business Consultant with 3 – 6+ year's experience in digital transformation or IT consulting projects.

This is a 3-month contract role, working across a fast-paced programme. Candidates must be comfortable translating business needs into clear, testable requirements and working closely with delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Gather and analyse business needs, processes, and pain points
Translate into clear requirements for technical teams
Support design, delivery, and testing
Ensure alignment with programme goals and traceability of requirements
Communicate clearly with business and technical stakeholders
Flag risks, issues, and blockers through project governance

Essential Experience (please do not apply without this)

3-6 years as a Business Consultant or Business Analyst
Experience in enterprise systems or large-scale digital transformation projects
Proven ability to gather and document business and functional requirements
Skilled in workshops, stakeholder interviews, process mapping, and gap analysis
Strong written communication – able to produce BRDs, user stories, flows, and acceptance criteria
Experience supporting solution design, QA, and UAT
Confident working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments

Desirable Experience

Familiarity with ITIL, PRINCE2, or Agile frameworks
Certifications such as BCS BA, Agile BA, or ITIL
Experience in regulated environments or professional services

Preferred Qualification

Degree in Technical Communications, Information Technology, or similar (or equivalent experience)
Certifications (desirable):
ITIL Foundation
Knowledge-Centred Service (KCS)
