Business Analyst in Test – Behaviour Driven Development, Agile

Purpose of the role
As the Business Analyst in Test you will be focussing on distillation of engineering level requirements from higher level system/business requirements across the company's product portfolio in a dynamic and fast paced design engineering department.
This role will involve close collaboration with the major delivery teams in the product delivery lifecycle of the business.
Interaction with the Systems Engineering team will ensure that detailed engineering "child requirements" are distilled from the higher-level system/business requirements. Interaction with the test and development teams will ensure that adequate acceptance criteria are derived and assigned to the engineering requirements and that appropriate tests are identified, and tasks added to the team Kanban boards to facilitate effective delivery.
To be involved with the test execution activity if desired though the focus will be identification of tests and "edge case" user journeys that will separately be developed into tests and executed by colleagues within the test team.
This role will:
assist with specific test engineering activities: reviewing the test plans for scope, working with the test lead to ensure traceability between requirements and tests, supporting test planning and helping prepare engineering reports where necessary.
provide opportunities to: (a) propose improvements to the development, test, and engineering processes (b) help refine system requirements and (c) shape and take part in all the agile activities that accompany development of connected smart devices.
help drive system specification to: (a) find weaknesses in design solutions (b) verify functional and non-functional features and whole-system requirements (c) define, coordinate and lead specification activities across teams where appropriate. Job Title: Business Analyst in Test

Specific accountabilities include:
Ensure the acceptance criteria for the engineering requirements are documented and suitable tests identified.
Support the Development teams when developing appropriate stories on their Kanban boards to deliver the required capabilities.
Review test plans with the test lead to ensure appropriate test scope
Work with the Test Lead to establish trace-ability between requirements and tests
Help the system test team design and develop appropriate functional and non-functional tests that maximise test coverage of the whole-system behaviour and operation.
Alert the project and line management functions to significant deviations or threats in an effective, proactive and timely manner
Challenge existing processes and propose/develop new test procedures and other process improvements
Support the defect triage process by reviewing defects and helping prioritise defectsKey Responsibilities:
Facilitate clarification and definition of requirements where ambiguity exists via cross-team discussion and collaboration
Simplifying requirements, so they are easily understood across the whole team
Support business transition and help establish change
Help Development and Test teams define and maintain the Kanban boards for the feature/capability under development
Maintain trace-ability between requirements and system tests in collaboration with the test lead
Maintain a strong customer focus always and drive rapid feedback on product behaviour
Identify opportunities to improve the specification/development/test lifecycle
Actively participate in risk analysis, FMEA, 3 amigos and product design discussionsKey requirements:
At least 5 years' experience as a Systems Analyst/Business Analyst/Systems Engineer
Degree in engineering or a relevant related field or demonstrable professional experience
Experience of Behaviour Driven Development
Experience of working in an agile development environment
A professional attitude with good interpersonal skills
Experience of working as part of a project team. A team player, comfortable engaging proactively with multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders
