Title: Azure Cloud Technical Lead / Architect
Location: Home Based (occasional travel to sites in London or South West when needed (c 10%).
Start Date: ASAP, the client will wait for the right person.
Salary: c £80,000 – £90,000 +. And bonus pension generous leave insurance health etc.
Your mission: You'll join as an experienced Azure technical lead & architect to help drive the business to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the creation of data-driven products in the Internet of Things space. Collaborating closed with the various groups in the product development team, you will play a leading role in developing cloud-based applications that scale across multiple use cases, customers, & devices.
Within the cloud ecosystem, this role will focus on the creation & maintenance of Azure cloud services spanning message-oriented components, data storage & retrieval; interfacing & presentation to external entities such as 3rd party services & the client's mobile applications. A key element of this role is to engage with DevSecOps specialists, 2nd line support & cloud service providers to ensure reliability mechanisms are in place.
Your responsibilities: As the Cloud Technical Lead / Architect you'll be the scrum-master to the development team & provide architectural & code structure guidance to the development team. You'll design & develop cloud-based, data-driven applications using microservice architectures, minimising complexity by careful analysis & software engineering principles.
You'll produce clean code & simple but effective code architectures to maximise maintainability & apply a mixture of BDD, TDD & edge-case exploration to author automated tests & design/implement CI/CD in conjunction with DevOps specialists. You'll take a lead role in the refinement & definition of user stories via '3 Amigoes' style collaboration with product owners & testers & provide valuable input to the Agile Process & work with the SRE to build reliable services.
You As a technical lead role developing data-driven micro-service and/or applications in Azure, you'll be experienced with Agile/scrum-master who takes responsibility for & proactively drives work packages to completion. You'll have experience with the Microsoft stack/.Net Core & code quality practices. Plus best-practice test automation including the use of TDD.
You'll have a customer-focused professional attitude with good interpersonal skills, so you'll be a collaborative team player, happy working as part of a project team, comfortable engaging proactively with multi-disciplinary teams & stakeholders. When needed you'll be a robust, resilient & tenacious individual who remains objective & delivers focussed when dealing with change, uncertainty & ambiguity.
Any experience in Microsoft Azure development using C# to create message-oriented & micro-services architectures, Front-end web development, data-driven applications & DevSecOps would be a plus.
