3rd Line Support / Retail Applications Specialist & Projects, Contract 6 months initially, £300-£350 p/day, Hampshire (Home based)
You'll be the go-to person for 3rd line queries and to provide retail systems innovation and project initiatives to a fast paced retail support team and the wider global retail estate. You'll naturally enjoy communicating with users, colleagues and stakeholders in non-technical jargon as well as be technically minded for 3rd line support, systems design, integration & implementation.
Tech wise, its core retail in-store systems; (EPOS and related digital retail components and iOS devices), infrastructure running Cisco with Windows Server and a hybrid of Win7 and Win10, all of which run Microsoft SQL editions.
You'll enjoy being a well-rounded 3rd line support analyst, supporting not only what is escalated by the 1st /2nd line team, but being pro-active with projects, upgrades and ideas to essentially make things better. You'll be applying service management principles such as change and incident management and likely have some ITIL certifications to complement.
Other tech you may encounter includes: MDM, IOS, Digital Signage product usage (Content Management), General Networking & Best Practice Wi-Fi Security, security best practices (PCI:DSS, PII, SOX), cloud technologies (Azure).
Retail market experience and your core technical experience will be at the heart of this role, and with this, you should get some satisfaction out of being given the remit for retail IT innovation, problem solving and delivering projects and upgrades.
