A little bit about the role…
The Digital Team provides high-quality, strategically important digital solutions to all business units in M Group Services’ Rail & Aviation Division, leveraging efficiency and expertise from a centrally managed approach.
 
Focusing on delivery of initiatives within budget and to agreed timescales, and employing relevant best-practice project management principles and methods, the Project Manager will drive and lead the successful implementation of multiple systems and process improvements; liaising appropriately with all stakeholders, including senior management, operational and commercial functions, peers and suppliers.
 
The Project Manager will support our improvement agenda across the division to deliver safe and profitable company performance through continuous improvement, innovation and exceptional levels of customer service.
 
A key strategic objective for 2024 is to implement a workflow system, initially for our CP7 Contracts for Network Rail, but also creating the foundation of our strategic work management solution that enables growth of the Rail & Aviation division for 10+ years.
 
As a Project Manager, you will:

Expertly project manage system developments and process improvements – utilising experience, best-practice from the wider project management environment, tools and techniques to provide appropriate leadership, planning, control, resource co-ordination and communication.
Create and maintain programme and project documentation to efficiently manage complex projects and programmes of work, including contract mobilisations.
Create and maintain programme and project plans, monitor and forecast costs, and identify opportunities to reduce cost and avoid project overspend.
Keep clients, partners, directors, managers and other key stakeholders regularly appraised of project progress, issues and potential project risks.
Obtain buy-in for strategically important initiatives. Obtain project sign-off or stage gate approvals as required.
Design and implement appropriate project governance arrangements, such as steering groups, weekly progress meetings, risk reviews, etc.
Organise system development, testing, training, and system deployment as required.
Work with the in-house Digital Team, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop agreed systems and solutions.
Develop close working relationships with stakeholders to make it easy for them to work successfully with the Digital Team.
Be a visible and easily accessible point of contact for all project stakeholders. Attend client meetings to represent the company, where systems and processes are to be discussed.
Actively support standardisation and corporate efficiency improvements; share knowledge and experience with colleagues and evangelise the benefits of consistent use of processes and systems.
Identify opportunities to improve service, quality, safety and/or reduce costs by improving existing or adding new processes and systems.
Provide analysis and support to assist in commercial and operational decision-making.
Identify and recommend processes and systems required to meet company, contractual and project requirements.
Assist with tenders and bids as required, providing project management expertise.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. 
A little bit about you…

Excellent project management experience, with demonstrable delivery successes.
Experience of managing complex multi-faceted work-streams within tight timescales.
Ability to lead, co-ordinate and matrix-manage project teams drawn from a range of functions across the business, partners and clients.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks with different deadlines.
Highly numerate and literate, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
A self-motivated and highly professional team player with a flexible, yet structured approach; also able to work on own initiative.
A self-starter of graduate calibre with a logical approach to problem-solving.
Awareness of current technologies and IT methodologies.
Experience in process improvement work.
Good skills in MS Office applications, especially MS Project and Visio.
Ability to demonstrate experience of working in a competitive, customer-focused, commercial environment.
Ability to demonstrate success in the production of quality documentation, which is precise and concise in content.
Ability to design and manage an appropriate strategy for communication and information flow within the project environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to, and work with colleagues, clients and suppliers at all different levels of the business hierarchy.
Confident in giving presentations and facilitating workshops to colleagues, clients and suppliers.
A project management and/or a business-related qualification would be desirable.
Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform or SharePoint would be desirable.
Full UK driving licence.
