Rate – £38 – £45 per hour
As part of Assystem UK on-going support to our client we requires a Integration Engineer on a contract basis to be based on site at our clients premises in Wiltshire. The rate is negotiable based on experience and skill levels. The role will be integral to the product development team working collaboratively to provide system integration and component test services as well as owning maintaining and configuring the test systems.
Purpose of the job:
System Integration and Test Engineers are required to join the R&D project team for the delivery of ground-breaking signalling system software based products.
Key tasks / Responsibilities:
The candidate will be expected to carry out or play a part in a number of the following tasks:
Own configure and maintain the test environment and test data.
The candidate can be expected to develop test plans and procedures for both black- and white-box testing of all components at the story module system and integration levels
Candidate should be able to run investigations into root-cause analysis of failures hardware or software using the appropriate tools and recommend solutions to the development team for resolution.
The candidate will define and manage defect tracking and correction procedures monitoring and updating defect reports as needed.
Candidate should be able to identify areas of opportunity for Test Automation and convert manual testing into automated frameworks as required.
Support wider system integration activities and assist with problem resolution.
Experience in end-to-end systems integration deep product testing or both.
Experience should not be limited to software-only systems and will be expected to apply test techniques to hardware and software integrated systems.
Proven and successful track record in the Integration and testing of software/hardware control systems with complex system interactions.
Creation of Integration Test specifications and reports documents
Able to create scripts in order to support testing
Understanding of C# or C++ languages
Good inter-personal and communication skills the ability to work in a team and the ability to lead a team. Also the ability to communicate with customers and other parts of the business.
Ability to understand a complex products and systems
Desirable skills required for this position:
Knowledge particularly experience of developing Safety Critical Software to SIL2 level.
Knowledge of Railway Signalling and interlocking equipment
Experience of working in an Agile environment testing user stories and participating in SCRUM sprint planning and backlog review activities.
Experience of Continuous Integration (using Jenkins or similar)
Experience with DOORS
Experience with Visual Studio 2012 and .Net 4.6
Railway Industry background. Knowledge of CENELEC 50128.
Systems Engineering experience
Knowledge of Configuration Management Systems e.g IBM Synergy
Experience of using RTC/Jira or other sprint planning tools
